Thank you for sharing this man’s experience with us. The event took place several months ago, but I just discovered your blog and today, 10/7/04, it reaffirms my impression of George W.Bush, that he is a man of substance, compassion, conviction, honesty and strength. Not that Kerry isn’t articulate and intelligent, he is. Not that Edwards isn’t evangelistic and charismatic, he is. But in my gut, I don’t trust Kerry to be “straight shooter” in any sense of the phrase, and I fear for my family and the fate of America if we’re left at the hands of another indecisive waffler (Doonesbury’s icon for Clinton was the waffle)if Kerry wins this election. Kerry is a stellar BSer, but doesn’t see it, or say it like it IS; he wants to govern by committee, and every private sector executive knows what that’s like! President Bush walks his talk but also is humble enough to ask God for protection, and thank God for all our great blessings. May God continue to bless America, and George W.Bush, and Tony Blair for his extraordinary courage to rally Great Britain to the logic of staying the course with the United States in the interest of clearing the path to self-governance for the Iraqi people. We can’t expect it to work perfectly one or two years into the effort, even when they get elected officials into position. The Middle Eastern countries are so damned by their own deep hatred for one another that they can’t see past the rage of 4 centuries gone by…and in America, the assassinations of our Presidents, RFK, and Martin Luther King and other unnamed champions for peace have occurred on our own soil. Our enemy is man’s own pride, greed, arrogance, and inability to embrace fellow human beings unconditionally as equals in the universe. For those blockages in our minds and hearts, we pay in blood.
