Halloween Business Opportunity
The scary season is fast approaching. I’ve got an idea you can use to make some money this season.
Sell those really nifty costumes. Here’s a place that sells all those neat ones like a large piece of pizza and a can of spam. My personal favorite is the one made for a couple. The man is a big electrical plug and the woman is the wall outlet. Pretty funny stuff.
So, how to sell these things. Easy. First, you have to sign up to be an affiliate of the website that sells these thing. (To become an affiliate, click here and scroll down to the “affiliate/webmaster” link at the bottom of the page.) Then purchase a memorable domain like wackocostumes.com (not taken by the way) and have it put on a big handheld sign. Point the domain to your affiliate link. Then just purchase the most outlandish one of the costumes (through your affiliate link so you can get your first commission) and then stand on a busy corner with your sign, directing people to your domain (which goes directly to their website via your affiliate link).
Viola! You have yourself a viable seasonal business. The total cost to get it up and running is about $100 (domain, forwarding of domain, sign and costume.) Their commissions are 25% and the average costume price is around $40. So, for each sale you’re making about $10.
If you stand at a busy corner, making a fool of yourself (thereby attracting attention of course), you can assume 500 to 2000 people will see you per hour depending on how busy of a corner you pick. If you do it for 8 hours, that’s 4,000 to 16,000 people seeing you… most of which are going to want or know someone who wants a great costume for Halloween. If you get just .1% of 8000 people to buy something, you’ve made your investment back in one day.
It beats panhandling and is maybe a bit more fun than what you are currently doing to pay the bills… right?
